Meet Jane Weaver, riding instructor at Miller Hollow Farm, offering riding lessons for all ages from 3 and up. Jane has been riding horses since she was 10 years old where she grew up in LaFollette , Tn. Since then she has enjoyed a successful career in raising, training and showing Tennessee Walking Horses, Racking Horses and Spotted Saddle Horses. She has had many years teaching, boarding, running horse clinics and camps and is an avid trail rider. Jane is the head of the Miller Hollow Trail Riders who get together monthly to plan rides in the surrounding areas of east Tennessee. She founded the original Miller Hollow Stables in 1975 and opened the indoor arena, Miller Hollow Equestrian Center, in 1995. She continues that career now at Miller Hollow Farm by offering lessons for students interested in basic horse care, trail riding, and walk trot, canter as well as lessons with gaited horses. She also does tune up training with gaited horses. She has years of experience in buying and selling horses to help her clients find just the right match for their personal preferences and needs.
Hailing from the Midwest, Mary grew up in 4-H and AQHA competitions. After training with such legends as John Lyons, she went on to train and compete successfully for over 10 years in western and hunter disciplines, excelling at working with young and green horses. Mary loves creating versatile horses that are confident in any ring. After hosting multiple 4-H clinics, Mary found a new passion, passing her knowledge on, through lessons and clinics, to other riders and the next generation!
After moving to Tennessee in 2001, she has been offering affordable lessons and training to the East Tennessee community. Mary has continued in her pursuit of knowledge studying Natural Horsemanship methods and focusing on a classical Dressage education, both of which she carries over and applies to every horse and rider for every discipline she teaches.
